For more than 50 years, the Abbeville Rotary Club has been raising funds to distribute to local projects and programs through hosting a day of Abbeville Youth Athletics football games where our 'tiny tots' get to take the 'big' field. Each December, the Abbeville Rotary Club hosts a 5k run and 1 mile walk to benefit the Angel Tree Bike Fund. During this season, Rotarians also help wrap presents for Angel Tree as well as deliver bikes on Christmas Eve. In 2023, we had over 50 run/walk participants and delivered over 50 bikes in Abbeville County. Registration will open soon for this year's run.

Each year Seniors throughout the County are encouraged to apply for our merit based scholarship geared toward the future leaders of our community. Applications are currently live.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a week long camp at Erskine College hosted and founded on the leadership principals of Rotary for rising high school juniors and seniors. Each spring area counselors nominate a delegate and alternate to attend.
As a Rotary Club, we sponsor two Interact Clubs at the High School Level. One at Abbeville High, the other at Dixie High.
Interact Clubs bring together the next generation to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
Rotary Youth Exchange
Any student age 15-19 looking to learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become a global citizen should reach out to our RYE Coordinator to learn more about short and long term exchange programs.
Through district grant funds Rotary partnered with Abbeville Area Medical Center to bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to Abbeville County. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners. Abbeville residents can register their kids online.
In 2024, our club tackled food insecurity alongside the Bags of Blessings program as Westwood Elementary.
Quarterly, our Rotarians gather together to pick up trash along our stretch of highway in Abbeville County. Last year we collected over 50 bags of trash.
Across the world, we partner with other clubs in our district to address water, sanitation, and hygiene. Most recently, we have contributed to providing wells in Honduras!
